Description

The Kelpies are 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures, standing next to the Forth and Clyde Canal in central Scotland and cost £5 Million. They are lit up in various colours at night.

They were completed in 2013 and are a monument to horse powered heritage across Scotland. A Kelpie is an old name for a mythical water horse.

The Kelpies and the nearby Falkirk Water Wheel (which is an impressive and innovative boat lift) are both big tourist attractions.

It's only when you get close that you appreciate the interesting construction and the sheer size.
