Description
English: The Mamelon Vert, interior of the fort. During the winter of 1854-55 the Russians built the Kamtschatka redoubt on the strategic Mamelon hillock as part of a series of fortifications to defend Sevastopol. The French captured the redoubt after a heavy bombardment in June 1855.
