Summary edit
DescriptionThe Nine Stones - geograph.org.uk - 301868.jpg |
English: The Nine Stones A Bronze Age stone circle of eight or nine stones on the SE-facing slope of Nine Stone Rig, above Kingside Burn. The circle originally contained large upright boulders set in a circle about 22 ft in diameter. Presumably the purpose of the circle was ritual. It is also believed that some treasure is hidden beneath these stones and various attempts, all unsuccessful, have been made to find it. |
