English: The North Mt. Farrell tramway, ex Mt. Magnet tramway No. 2, Orenstein and Koppel, locomotive no. 719 of 1901, at the Farrell siding connection with the Emu Bay Railway, 1924. Some reports exist that its valve gear, where the weight shaft was attached to the axle allowing the axle to have springing, was somewhat unreliable on uneven track, which caused the valve rod travel to change thus altering the events. O&K 718 was used in Tullah, then ended its life at Ida Bay Railway, where bits n pieces still remain. |
