English: The Old Fire Engine Station, Upton. Situated on the southerly side of New Street. Notice how the front doors of the modern houses are raised well up above the road level. This area of Upton is often flooded when the Snowdonia winter snows melt and the River Severn bursts its banks. Deputy Prime Minister John Prescot was seen here on national TV in his wellies during the last floods. |
