English: The Site of Higher Doles Farm. The site of Higher Doles Farm is marked by a large trough made of sheets of stone bound together with iron bolts. This abandoned farm is situated on the old road, now merely a footpath, which was constructed in the 1600s to give access to lands newly taken in from the moor. 474567 Here the Rossendale Way turns off the old road and goes downhill to cross Grane Road. |
