e. Milktickets are sold by the general offices andagents of each company. The minimumcharge for any article carried is 25 cents. While the freight traffic of the Toledointerurbans has passed the experimentalstage, it can hardly be said to be fully HEAVY FREIGHT TRAIN ON TOLEDO & WESTERN RAILWAY take care of all the business that could besecured by them were it pushed. Notwith-standing the fact that one interurban, theToledo, Bowling Green & Southern Trac-tion Company, has not attempted to takeany freight business because of lack ofpower, while the other roads are practicallyturning down business, through lack ofproper facilities, it is claimed that thefreight business of the Toledo interurbansalready exceeds the express business of thesteam lines into Toledo. The reason forthe rapidly increasing popularity of thisservice is the fact that it is practically ex-press service at freight rates. SPECIAL FREIGHT DELIVERY BY ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE 5 02 STREET RAILWAY JOURNAL. (Vol. XX. No. 14. per hundredweight. The class of any article is determinedby the regular official freight classification tariff used by alisteam roads. The scale of prices for the several roads isshown in the table on this page. Very little freight or express is carried in combinationcars on the lines entering Toledo, but in other sectionsthis is common practice. One agent, with the necessaryhelp, attends to all shipments and receipts at the Toledoheadquarters, and is paid by the several roads, in pro-portion to the tonnage hauled by each. Other expenses,such as telephones, stationery, fuel, etc., are paid in likemanner. The freight station is managed by a committee,composed of the general managers of the companies inter-ested. Each year a general manager for the station iselected from the members of this committee, the presentincumbent being L. E. Beilstein, general manager of thecity company and the Toledo
