l run is one of the networkof interurban roads converging atDayton. Covington is in the neigh-borhood of 25 miles from Dayton, andmidway between these points is thecompanys power station at West Mil-ton ; from Covington to Piqua isanother 8 miles. At West Milton isalso located an amusement park,owned by the traction company, towhich property many additions havebeen added this year. At Piqua, elec-tric railway connections can be madewith various points north, includingToledo via Lima and Findlay. The handling of troops on the Bos-ton & Worcester Street Railway plays quite an importantpart in the companys business. Last season no carloads ofsoldiers were dispatched over the lines, consisting of threeentire regiments, and the majority of other regiments incamp at the time. The cars used for this service were builtby the J. G. Brill Company and contain the builders Nar-ragansett double-step feature which tends greatly to facili-tate the handling of just such crowds as mentioned. Seven

It is reported that the City Council has agreed to thecombining of all lines owned by the Canadian Rail-way, Light & Power Company in Rio de Janeiro. HANDLING TROOPS ON THE BOSTON & WORCESTER RAILWAY new cars of this type have just been put on the lines and aregenerally similar to those illustrated, although they have theadded comfort of spring-cane cushions.
