Summary
editDescriptionThe Supreme Passion (1921) - Ad 1.jpg |
English: Advertisement for the American drama film The Supreme Passion (1921) with Florence Dixon, on page 3 of the February 14, 1921 Film Daily. While the ad features an image of a nude woman, it also states without further explanation that the film has "no censorship worries," which suggests that the actual film may not have had any nudity or that it was presented in a manner considered acceptable in American films at that time, such as in a scene involving still modeling for a painter or sculptor. This apparently is a lost film as no copies have been identified in archives; a review of the film on page 14 of the March 6, 1921 Film Daily states that the theme of the film is the question of whether a woman is loved for the beauty of her body or soul, and features the story of an Irish immigrant girl who is engaged but meets with an accident that scars her face. |
