Summary
editDescriptionThe Unicorn Inn - geograph.org.uk - 1114903.jpg |
English: The Unicorn Inn The Unicorn Inn on North Road in Ambleside. Turn left out of the door of this pub and 30 seconds later is another Robinsons pub The Golden Rule on Smithy Brow. This photo was taken on 12 March 2004 and in case you are wondering why I say Robinson's pub instead of Hartley's pub as the sign says, this is because Robinson's bought Hartleys of Ulverston in 1982 and part of the deal was that the name Hartleys was to be retained on all the pubs for 25 years. Since 2007 the name of Hartleys has started to be replaced with the name Robinson's on it's pubs as they come up for refurbishment, one of the first to be done was The Manor House in Oxen Park. So if you see a Hartleys pub take a photograph of it as the name is slowly disappearing. |
