U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), and The World Food Prize Foundation President Ambassador Kenneth M. Quinn talk after a ceremony recognizing Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank as the 2017 winner of the prestigious $250,000 World Food Prize June 26, 2017, at USDA Headquarters, Washington, D.C.

Awarded by the World Food Prize Foundation, the Prize has been referred to as the “Nobel Prize for Food and Agriculture” and is the most prominent global award recognizing an individual who has enhanced human development and confronted hunger by improving the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world.
