Description
English: In part, this map emphasizes the German threat in World War I. The text above the map quotes Woodrow Wilson: "Look at a map of Germany's Dominion. (...) the black stretched all the way from Hamburg to Bagdad. If she can keep that, her power can disturb the world always . . . ." On the other hand, the text below the map signals the overwhelming balance of power in the war: "The proportion of the earth's surface left nominally at peace and the relation of size between the two sides are strikingly shown in this map".
