English: The York Zero milepost This plaque on York railway station, unveiled on 31 July 2004, marks the 'zero point' from which distances along several railway routes are historically measured. They are listed on the set of smaller markers at the bottom of the photo, and include the lines to Beverley, Normanton (once a much more important node on the railway network than now), Newcastle, Harrogate and Scarborough. |
