English: 日本時代的台灣，深受日本文化的影響極為深遠，在建築史上，日本時代顛覆傳同台灣人對建築的視角與觀念，企圖打破守舊迷思，在這棟近百年建築物當中，我們發現日本時代運用精緻、對稱、華麗與和諧的歐洲建築工法，打造出極為有特色的建築。 從建築當中，我們看見歷史背後的意涵與象徵，也宣洩一種不可抹去的帝國主義，讓我們現在看到此建築也為之讚嘆並敬佩。 Taiwan in the Japanese era was deeply influenced by Japanese culture.
