English: The command bunker for Nare Head decoy site This is a remnant of the WWII defences of Falmouth Docks. An elaborate mock-up of the railway at Falmouth Docks was constructed on Nare Head to mislead German night bombers and it was controlled from this bunker. Lots more fascinating information here: http://www.truroroca.co.uk/Veryan%20Post.htm. There was a similar set-up on Nare Point at the entrance to the Helford River. |
