| Description |
English: The dog stone. On Mynydd Varteg Fawr, this is a memorial to Carlo a beloved setter that was accidentally shot on 12th August 1864. The black pillar on the left gives the details and the close-up is here 677788. Whether the groups of stones or the memorial is what is known as "the dog stone" is unclear.
Most of the square consists of similar moorland, dropping towards Varteg to the south-east. |
