The game of the river.The feast of Ivan the Herbalist or Ivan Kupala, or simply Midsummer Day was originally dedicated to the God Kupala, and after the adoption of Christianity in Russia, on this day the church celebrates the Nativity of John the Baptist. It is celebrated on July 7. According to the traditions and rituals of the Slavs on this day, it is customary to gird themselves with bands of herbs, weave wreaths in the form of the sun, lead round dances and sing songs, light bonfires. This holiday symbolizes prosperity and fertility.
