Description
English: The fishgarth on Ynys Gorad Goch Ynys Gorad Goch ('the island of the red weir') was the site of an important fishing industry in the nineteenth century. Fish became trapped in the stone-built 'gorad' as the tide receded. Herring was a popular catch and these were smoked on the island, in the church-like building to the left of the house. The house is still lived in, but commercial fishing on the island has long been a thing of the past.
