English: The former RAF Skaw on Lamba Ness, and the former RAF Saxa Vord The building in the foreground is the largest remaining building from the former WW2 radar base on Lamba Ness, known as RAF Skaw, and it housed the main power station. The radome in the distance on the hill of Saxa Vord is part of the former RAF Saxa Vord cold war radar station, currently mothballed but maintained as an RRS (Remote Radar Station). |
