Summary

edit
Description The fresh tea leaves, after moving up a conveyor fed by the employee seen in the previous pictures now fall into a chute for crushing. This is CTC tea in the making. CTC Tea is processed using the'crush, tear and curl' (CTC) method. Leaves processed using the CTC method are not rolled, but are placed through cylindrical rollers with small teeth. The rollers crush, tear and curl the tea leaves, hence the name of the method. (Vagamon/ Munnar Tea Estates, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016)
