Description
English: The incident for which Flight Lieutenant W. Newton was awarded the V.C. Picture shows the attack on the Isthmus and foreshore. The aircraft in foreground is strafing down the Isthmus, setting fire to the damaged stores buildings. After dropping their bombs on the south shore of the harbour, smoke was rising up. The illustration depicts the intrepid low-level attacks which have been an outstanding feature of Boston operations, New Guinea.
