| Description |
English: The island, Teme's Green The Teme at Teme's Green is braided, and the course changes from year to year, but there appears to be a common pattern to some of the formations. The island was here before 1976, it gave good fishing in the fast water on the Ashford Bowdler side of the river. Then it was bulldozed away in a massive flood "prevention" scheme which did great damage to the wildlife and fishing - we nearly lost the otters and the grayling population crashed. Since then the island has reappeared in much the same form as it had before. Another island to the left has reduced in size after big floods in 2007 and 2009. |
