Margaret Markoe, died 1798, during the yellowfever in Philadelphia. 2. William, married Catherine Wistar,died 1814. 3. Elizabeth, married John Harwood. 4. Louis. 5.Deborah, married William J. Duane. 6. Richard, married theeldest daughter of Alexander J. Dallas. 7. Sarah, married ThomasSergeant. Their descendants are numerous. It appears by Dr. Franklins Will, that, at the time of hisdeath, there were living descendants of his brothers Samuel andJames, and of his sisters, Anne, Sarah, Lydia, and Jane. He lefta small bequest to each of them. The basis of the subjoined Genealogical Table is a paper sup-posed to have been drawn up by Dr. Franklin. It has been en-larged, and in some instances corrected, particularly in the dates,from the Record of Births in Boston, from Dr. Franklins lettersin which he speaks of his family, and from the manuscript vol-umes of his uncle Benjamin, which contain various particulars illus-trative of this subject. I lay ashore all night, and this morning took a walk upto the Windmill Hill, whence I had an agreeable prospect of thecountry for about twenty miles round, and two or three reachesof the river, with ships and boats sailing both up and down, andTilbury Fort on the other side, which commands the river andpassage to London. This Gravesend is a cursed biting place ; thechief dependence of the people being the advantage they makeof imposing upon strangers. If you buy any thing of them, andgive half what they ask, you pay twice as much as the thing isworth. Thank God, we shall leave it to-morrow.
