| Description |
English: The main entrance to Ysgol y Berwyn. This is a bilingual comprehensive school which has one of the largest catchment areas in Wales extending eastwards to Glyndyfrdwy SJ1442, north to Llangwm SH9644, south along the Hirnant valley to SH9426 and westwards to Rhydymain SH8021. Opened in 1964, it replaced the Bala Girls School (the red brick building on the left) and Bala Boys Grammar School (now the Cyfnod Restaurant). For most subjects, pupils are streamed on linguistic criteria, but Welsh is the main language of the school.
