Le Guignard d Angleterre of Brifon * is confidered as a variety dfthis fpecies; the weight and iize correfpond with the former defcrip-tionj but the fore part of the Neck, Breaft, Belly, Sides, and Thighs,are pale yellow and white mixed, the Tail white, except the two middlefeathers, the Legs and Feet of a fordid green. Aibin has figured thisbird ; he fays he received it from Lincoln)hirey by the name o£Dotterel +. Thofe birds are common in the northern parts of Europe ; Linnamsfays they are frequent in the Lapland Alps, and that they vifit Swedenin May.
