Summary edit

Description
English: The train from Dundee arrives at the station for Edinburgh, at Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland. Loco hauled services in Fife as seen in 1985 when the majority were hauled by class 47 locos. These services were some of the last to use "steam heat" rather then electric train heating. In simple terms the locos had a boiler which produced steam to heat the coaching stock. A driver's assistant was required to look after the boiler which, if not attended to correctly, would mean the passengers would freeze in winter or cook in summer! Normally heat was provided in the winter months which normally meant by the May timetable change it was deemed summer even if it was still cold!
