Summary edit

Description
English: Stock certificate of the Théatre de la Gaité for 1000 Francs, issued on 19 August 1873, signed in the original by Jaques Offenbach as director. Offenbach renovated the theatre from the ground up to reopen it on 2 September 1873 with "Le Gascon", a drama by Théodore Barière, to which he himself had contributed the music. Offenbach invested 360,000 francs in the production of the historical drama "La Heine" by Victorien Sardou, which premiered on 3 December 1874, but it was not a success, which ultimately led to the dissolution of the company.
