Caracal municípium Olt megyében, Olténiában. .A település a megyeszékhelytől, Craiovától 55 km-re helyezkedik el a Román Alföldön. Caracal volt Romanati megye székhelye, egészen a kommunizmus kezdetéig. 1994-ben municípiumi rangot kapott.
