This dinosaur restoration is inaccurate, or its accuracy is disputed. Reason: What is shown to be known of the skull of Falcarius is incorrect. Parts that are actually known can be seen here: [1] Same with the lower jaw of Segnosaurus:File:Segnosaurus mandible.png |
Summary
editDescriptionTherizinosaurid skull 044.JPG |
English: Skull remains of 3 different genera of the theropod dinosaur group Therizinosauroidea. To the left a skull of Falcaruis, found in Utah, USA. Known from many skeletons, dated to the early Aptian (Cretaceous, 125 MYA (see [2] and [3] for the original source). At the right side is the skull of Erlikosaurus, so far one of the best preserved skulls of any Therizinosaur. This animal is believed to walked the ground of Mongolia in the Turonian-stage, 90 MYA in the Cretaceous (see [4], [5], [6] and [7] for the original sources). At the bottom is the skull remains of Segnosaurus, found in Mongolia, also dated to the Turonian (see [8] and [9] for original sources). |
