Description
English: The temperature scale is in degrees Fahrenheit.

Hot springs are sites where groundwater emerges at the Earth’s surface (or on the seafloor). Hot spring water has to be higher in temperature than the human body (an admittedly arbitrary definition): over 98° Fahrenheit or over 37° Celsius. Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. The highest concentration of geysers and hot springs anywhere is in Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin (northwestern Wyoming, USA).

The feature seen here is a relatively new, unnamed hot spring located just east of Sponge Geyser in the Geyser Hill Group of Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin. In August 2013, it consisted of two small, spitting vents. In 2014, a depression had formed, filled with several medium-sized collapse blocks. In 2015, a subtriangular, water-filled vent had formed among the geyserite-cemented collapse blocks. The vent engaged in continuous, moderately energetic roiling and low spitting behavior.
