English: Young German in a naval uniform of the SA-Marine (Marine-SA, Marinesturm), an independent organization within the framework of the Sturmabteilung (SA, "brownshirts"), the Nazi Party's original paramilitary wing, during World War II. SA had several military training units. The largest was the SA-Marine, which served as an auxiliary to the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) and performed search and rescue operations as well as harbor defense. The SA-Marine expanded its uniforms almost to a level unto themselves with distinctive identifying blue uniforms and visor caps, with special nautical insignia which no other unit of the SA displayed.
