| Description |
English: This must be the footpath! Looking at the 1:50,000 scale OS map I thought the return footpath branched off this surfaced path. It wasn't until I got home and looked at the 1:25,000 map that I realised where I had gone wrong. The footpath I started on at the beginning of my walk runs along the edge of the field by the hedge and meets this path to turn left towards Station Farm. The return path splits off just off the photograph to the left and cuts diagonally across the field to Roadside Farm. The moral to this tale: don't rely on small scale maps and definitely don't expect Nottinghamshire County Council to mark footpaths consistently and clearly. |
