| Description |
English: This was formerly Thorpe-on-the-Hill station The Nottingham to Lincoln line was built by the Midland Railway and engineered by Robert Stephenson. The line was opened on 4th August 1846. Thorpe-on-the-Hill station existed just to the right of the crossing, opening in 1846 and closing in 1955 for lack of use. This was the former station house - see 3706258 The nearest station is now Hykeham, two miles to the east while Swinderby is some three miles to the west. |
