English: Heraldic shield declaring the Sicilian ancestry of w:Marie of Baden-Sponheim (1507-1580), a daughter of Philip I, Margrave of Baden (1479–1533) and Countess Elisabeth (1483–1522), daughter of Philip, Elector Palatine and princess Margarete von Bayern-Landshut. She married William IV, Duke of Bavaria (1493–1550). Through her maternal grandmother she was descended from Elizabeth of Sicily (1310–1349), a daughter of w:Frederick III of Sicily and Eleanor of Anjou.
