1463. Three-sided tripod base with relief representations. Pentelic marble. Found in Athens. One side of the base has a depiction of Dionysos, the god of wine end patron of the theatre, holding a kantharos and a thyrsus. Each of the other two sides has a winged Nike. The base supported a bronze votive tripod dedicated by a choregos victorious in a drama contest. The figures are attributed to the workshop of Praxiteles on stylistic grounds. 350-325 BC. National Archaeological Museum, Athens, Greece. --- 1463. Τρίπλευρη βάοη τρίποδα με ανάγλυφες παραστάσεις. Μάρμαρο πενιελικά. Βρέθηκε στην Αθήνα. Στην μία πλευρά απεικονίζεται ο Διόνυσος, ο θεάς του κρασιού και προστάτης του θεάτρου, που κρατεί κάνθαρο και θύρσο, ενώ στις άλλες δύο πλευρές ανά μία φτερωτή Νίκη. Πάνω στη βάση ήταν τοποθετημένος χάλκινος αναθηματικός τρίποδας, αφιέρωμα κάποιου χορηγού, νικητή σε θεατρικό αγώνα, Τεχνοτροπικά οι μορφές αποδίδονται στο εργαστήριο του Πραξιτέλους, 350-325 π.Χ.
