| Description |
English: Thurlby Fen Slipe Nature Reserve Thurlby Fen Slipe Nature Reserve is situated on the north side of the River Glen.
A slipe is the land at the foot of a river bank, and this reserve, which is about 2km long, consists of old flooded borrow-pits with a gravelly bed, associated reedbeds (see image for one of these), scrub and grassland and adjacent hedgerows. The quality of the water in the pools is a sharp contrast to the muddy swirling water of the River Glen. This reserve is managed by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. |
