Description

Trekking 3 days from Tsurpu Monastery to Yangpachen Monastery.

Looking north from our campsite plateau to the mighty and holy mountain of Nyenchen Tanglha (7111m). The mountain gives the name to the range that towers over the Yangpachen valley.

This huge massif has a quite distinctive flat summit. Nyenchen Tanglha is the holiest mountain in central Tibet and is said to be inhabited by a god of the same name. Envisioned as a regal white warrior on a white horse, his half-smile, half-grimace symbolizes both the benevolent and destructive sides of his personality.
