English: 1975 Vanden Plas 1500 Mk1.

Extremely happy with this spot! Not a local car as I have never seen it before and never again...

4 cylinder 1485 cc engine (51 kW; 68 bhp).
Français : Van den Plas est, à l’origine, un carrossier belge implanté à Bruxelles après 1870. Il déménage rapidement pour Antwerpen.

Le nom franchit la Manche au tournant du nouveau siècle, on le retrouve associé à l’aviation de guerre Britannique. Après 1945 retour aux sources, c’est le constructeur automobile Austin qui y est accolé.

De regroupements en restructurations, Vanden Plas atterrit à la British Motor Corporation (BMC) puis British Leyland dont elle coiffe la gamme, tel Ghia chez Ford. Le label désigne un moment, les Jaguar-Daimler écoulées outre-Atlantique !

Le nom disparait du paysage automobile en même temps que sa maison-mère, Rover, vers 2005.
