| Description |
English: York - Bournemouth express passing Tilehurst. View NW, towards Didcot, Oxford, Banbury etc.; ex-GWR Paddington - Reading - Swindon/Oxford etc. main lines. The train - ALSO the locomotive (No. 6906) - are virtually the same as those shown at Kings Sutton in SP4935 : Bournemouth - York express approaching Kings Sutton and SP4936 : Newcastle - Bournemouth express approaching Kings Sutton taken in 1950 and 1953. In a mile or so the train will diverge to the left onto the Reading West Curve to reach Basingstoke. In this fine scene of the Thames Valley the River Thames can be glimpsed between the trees in the centre. |
