Summary edit

Description
English: Tirefour Castle, seen from the SW Tirefour Castle is an ancient broch, the origin of which is debated. Some say it dates from the first century AD; some describe it as Pictish, dating from around 500BC. It is listed, but in a poor state of repair, the stones having been cannibalised over the years for farm buildings, dry stone walls etc. The signpost on the right points the way to Achnacroish pier, whence the ferry sails to Oban.
