Description
English: Tissington railway station (site), Derbyshire, 1982
Opened in 1899 by the London & North Western Railway on the line from Ashbourne to Buxton, this station closed to passengers in 1954 and completely in 1963. View south west towards Thorpe Cloud and Ashbourne on a wet January day in 1982. The original station buildings were made of timber and did not survive closure. The more substantial building on the right was perhaps erected at the time the "Tissington Trail" path was created in 1971.
