Summary

Description
English: Tofts and crofts, Guiseley. These are narrow strip-fields. There were ten of them between Union Street (now Queensway) and Wills Gill. The western (left) part was the toft, the land on which the farmhouse was built. A few of the farms are still there – see the barn conversion. The crofts were the small fields belonging to each farm, not part of the open field system. This view is from Queensway.
