DescriptionTongdean Lane Railway Bridge - geograph.org.uk - 619403.jpg |
English: Tongdean Lane Railway Bridge The old lane links London Road (A23) with Dyke Road Avenue though this part was rerouted to the south when the railway was built in 1840. The area around the bridge was cleaned up recently with the removal of trees from the embankment and the eradication of a piece of graffiti exhorting all and sundry to 'Send Cruise Back' along the top of the bridge which had been there for over 25 years. The area concerned can be made out by the covering paint. The road is closed on Brighton & Hove Albion matchdays which is where the crowds are heading to on the other side of the bridge. |
