Description
日本語: 斗六（トロク）街 斗六（トロク）街。臺南州下嘉義街に亞ぐ市況殷盛な一都市で，人口約三萬の純本島人街である。清朝時代には開山撫蕃の為め雲林と稱し，雲林縣の所在地でもあつた。東洋製糖株式會社の工場あり製糖業の一中心をなし，甘蔗、米、龍眼肉、山製樟腦の集散地とし，又近くには有名な竹材の產地がある。街を去る約一二粁，大平頂山は往年匪魁の據つて亂を寫した土地である。（《日本地理大系．臺灣篇》編輯部）
