Description
English: Torre Mezzapraia of Curinga is a coastal tower which is part of the defensive system of the Kingdom of Naples underway during the Aragonese Period. Built at different strategic points along the entire Calabria coastal ridge, the towers represented an effective communication tool: in the event of an enemy sighting, a signal fire was lit allowing the local population to run for cover while, from tower to tower, the danger signal was spread throughout the Kingdom.
