Description
Italiano: L’edificazione della torre, datata 1517, si deve a Fabrizio Pignatelli, Principe di Cerchiara e Signore di Amendolara. Come la maggior parte delle torri costiere calabresi, fu costruita per l’avvistamento delle incursioni dei pirati turchi che impazzavano nelle acque del Mediterraneo. Non appena appurata la presenza saracena, i militi locali mandavano segnali al Castrum Petrae Roseti (il Castello federiciano di Roseto Capo Spulico) e alla Torre di Albidona per le dovute contromosse.
