Čeština: Továrník Jan Kohout (nebo též psáno: Kohaut) (1819–1884) – český strojírenský podnikatel, stavitel, majitel továrny na výrobu mlýnských parních strojů v Praze na Smíchově, původně vyučený truhlář. Byl nadšeným podporovatelem cyklistiky, zakladatelem prvního velocipedistického klubu v Rakousku-Uhersku a roku 1880 se jeho firma stala vůbec první v říši, která vyrobila vysoké kolo, tedy velociped.
English: Factory owner Jan Kohout (or also written: Kohaut) (1819–1884) - Czech engineering businessman, builder, owner of a factory for the production of mill steam engines in Prague-Smíchov, originally a trained carpenter. He was an enthusiastic supporter of cycling, the founder of the first cycling club in Austria-Hungary, and in 1880 his company became the first in the empire to produce a bicycle.
