Unlike in mainland China, the Yaris Mk2 was a big seller in Taiwan. Like in China and other Southeast Asian countries a hatchback directly derived from the Vios sedan replaced the old Yaris, meaning it is no longer similar to the European Yaris and Japanese Vitz. I think the Southeast Asian Yaris is an eyesore, but the Taiwanese don't seem to agree; it continues to sell well and is one of the most popular cars on the island. |
