Description
English: Track across a boggy area linking the Cwm End, or eastern, workings with Rhiwbach 'village' The ruins along the track are of Glan y Gors (Welsh for Bogside). This was a smallholding known to the workforce as 'Barics Cae' (barracks in the field). One of the sons of the Edwards family who lived here, Evan Edwards, was quarry manager from 1938-1953 while his brother, David, who spent almost his entire life at Rhiwbach, was the 'Big Engine' driver.
