Description
English: Trent and Mersey Canal at Shobnall, Staffordshire. Burton on Trent has been a brewing centre of renown for centuries. The full text on the bridge states, "the home of Marston's Pedigree". That is the only beer now brewed with the Burton Union System, twice brewed, in fact. Marston's brewery is to the left, and is well worth the visit if you can book one. The far larger Bass brewery off to the right is now owned by the Molson Coors Brewing Company, who have decided they don't want to brew Bass cask ale any more. All the (excellent) Bass beer you can now obtain from hand-pumps in pubs is brewed by Marston's (not by the Union method).
